Visual Perception and Composition (Week 7) DXB202

Visual Perception and Composition + Photography: Week 7

Title: Jungle Lego (Small to Large)
Technique Used: iPhone 8, Zoom and Desk Lamp Lighting.
Process: The lego man was placed within a small plant and the camera was placed directly in front, with minor zooming to make it appear larger than it is. Lighting was added to add focus on the lego man, some parts were blurred to maintain focus on the lego character.
Title: " Gotcha Mum"(Large to Small)
Technique Used: iPhone 8, House Lighting & Zoom
Process: I had my little cousin sit on the ground close to the camera, whilst his mum stood far away from him. He positioned his fingers to make it appear as if he was picking her up, creating an illusion, making something large, small.
Title: Leaf (Texture from Nature)
Technique Used: DSLR Camera, Zoom, Natural Lighting and Manual Focus.
Process: I went into my backyard, where I found a leaf with various textures, and lines. I manually focused my camera on the leaf so I could adjust the focus the closer I went/zoomed towards the leaf. Once finding the right angle/lighting, this picture was taken.
Title: Lounge (Texture from Man-Made Material)
Technique Used: DSLR Camera, Zoom, Natural Lighting and Auto Focus.
Process: This picture was taken of a vintage lounge chair which was located within my house. I zoomed and focused on the texture of the wool, where you can see the sewing string that was used to create the pattern. The use of zoom, and lighting allows the viewer to focus on the texture of the wool and each detail of the lounge.
Title: Spin It (Light Painting)
Technique Used: DLSR Camera, Long Exposures, ISO & F-stop Adjustments, Artificial Lighting.
Process: A group of us doing this class decided to go into a large open space when the sun was going down and take a variety of pictures with fairy lights. This one was taken by simply spinning the lights within a circle motion to create the image.
Overall Reflection: This weeks photography was something I enjoyed a lot! Having recently just purchased a Camera, I loved being able to experiment with new techniques and learn to adjust different settings, and realise the many capabilities of a camera. Overall, my favourite image was the Light Painting as it was fun to create.
